About Darryl Vance

Darryl Vance is a California-based artist who has been creating subtly provocative works for over thirty years. He is also an award-winning art director and designer whose work appears on television, in films, the webnets and various corporate medias.

As a college student, a poster he designed was selected by Art Direction magazine for inclusion in its "Creativity 7" design annual. His work in video, installation, and photography was shown in numerous local and regional exhibitions, including being selected as one of the first artists to create billboards by the Arts Festival of Atlanta. He continued to exhibit frequently in Atlanta until his move to the Bay Area in 1988.

In San Francisco, Vance worked as a media effects artist, designer and art director, where he won Emmy and Addy awards for best art direction. He was also creating digital and analog illustration, cartoons, and alternative media while continuing to work in traditional art media.

In 2007, he returned to exhibiting his art in Northern California with inclusion in two group shows and a solo presentation in Sonoma County, California.
